The collaboration between IRTECH and Hai Phong Port in implementing the ePort electronic port solution promises significant advancements in the digital transformation journey, reinforcing the port’s position within the global logistics network.
Hai Phong Port: A Strategic Gateway for International Trade
At the end of June, IRTECH participated in the signing ceremony for the TB06 package with Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company. Playing a crucial role in providing and implementing the ePort electronic port system, IRTECH is accelerating the digital transformation of Hai Phong Port. This contributes to the completion of plans to develop Hai Phong into the most modern, intelligent, and sustainable port city in the country.
The TB06 package is a key component of the investment project to construct container terminals 3 and 4 at Hai Phong International Gateway Port. The project has a total investment of over VND 6,900 billion and includes two container terminals, numbers 3 and 4, with a combined length of 750 meters and a width of 50 meters. It also includes a barge dock capable of receiving ships and barges with a capacity of 100-160 TEUs, along with investments in technical infrastructure and synchronized equipment to handle a throughput of 1.1 million TEUs per year. This is a strategic move to realize the vision of making Hai Phong an international logistics service hub by 2030.
Digital Transformation of Hai Phong Port with the ePort Electronic Port Solution
As part of the TB06 package, IRTECH will be responsible for providing and implementing comprehensive digital transformation solutions for Hai Phong Port, including:
1. Electronic Port (ePort)
The ePort electronic port is a comprehensive digital ecosystem designed to transform port operations from offline to online, facilitating efficient connections between stakeholders. The system includes key modules such as ePort for container cargo, GTOS for bulk and general cargo, the smart automatic gate Autogate, the IRBOT internal management and automation solution. Through its website and mobile application, ePort simplifies procedures for shipping lines, logistics, and transport companies, supports traffic management within the port, and enhances operational efficiency. Notably, with RPA automation technology, ePort can automate up to 70% of business processes, saving resources and improving service quality.
2. Smart Gate
As an integral part of the ePort electronic port ecosystem, the Smart Gate automates the management and coordination of vehicles entering and exiting the port. Utilizing AI and RPA technology, the Smart Gate automates document digitization, shortens waiting times, reduces congestion, and operational costs, while optimizing human resources and enhancing security. The Smart Gate promotes comprehensive digital transformation for the port, benefiting customers, drivers, and port employees alike.
3. Automatic Checking Point and Mobile App
The Port Management Mobile App is a tailored application designed to assist in managing and coordinating the inspection and delivery of containers. It digitizes documents, automates the recognition of container numbers and seals, and enables flexible workforce allocation—all within a single app. Key features include:
- Super App – A comprehensive mobile solution
- Mobile App for Inspection – Integrated with AI to read seal and container numbers
- Driver Mobile App – For vehicle management
This mobile app solution supports accurate delivery and receipt processes, significantly reduces waiting times, and effectively decreases congestion. The app allows managers and staff to access the system and perform related tasks directly from their mobile devices.
4. Integrated Connections: Electronic Customs Declaration, Payment Gateway,…
The solution supports the integration of automatic customs systems, enabling quick and accurate processing of procedures. The electronic invoicing system allows for the automatic management and issuance of invoices, saving time, alongside electronic payment services. This integration not only optimizes processes but also minimizes errors and significantly improves the overall operational efficiency of the port. Additionally, the connection with third-party systems such as payment gateways and specialized software systems provides robust support for operations at the port.
5. Terminal Operating System (TOS)
As part of the TB06 package, the TOS system provided by TSB will be a crucial solution for planning, monitoring, and managing smart, modern port operations. It ensures robust handling capacity with a port exploitation scale of 1.1 million TEUs per year, expandable to 2 million TEUs per year. The system features real-time functionalities for coordinating and allocating equipment; monitoring equipment status, position, and movement based on location data; and simulating all port operations in 3D to support operational needs.
During the signing ceremony, all parties openly shared and emphasized the spirit of cooperation, aiming to complete the project within the target timeframe, ensuring both efficiency and progress. This collaboration contributes to the development of the national port sector and elevates Hai Phong Port to an international level. It is anticipated that by the first quarter of 2025, terminals 3 and 4 will partially come into operation, with full operation by the end of 2025, marking new milestones for Hai Phong Port and Vietnam’s logistics industry.
This event also underscores IRTECH’s role in this national key project. It opens up opportunities for IRTECH to further leverage its strengths, promising significant contributions to the future development of Vietnam’s logistics and port sectors.
